AL-FATH TRUST funeral service provides full and comprehensive funeral support to the Algerian and Muslim community in the UK. we advise when someone dies at home or in the community to do the followings:
Call 999 ask for the Ambulance services.
Inform his/her GP about the death and request a GP or a Doctor's home visit to certify the death.
If the death is unexpected, the death will be investigated by the coroners’ services.
If the death is expected, i.e. the deceased was in Palliative Care, the funeral director (FD) will remove the body from place of death and take the body to the Funeral Director’s care.
Medical Certificate of Cause of Death (MCCD) will be signed by the GP or the Doctor at the hospice and will be scrutinised by the Medical Examiner (ME). Once approved and signed by the Medical Examiner, the death will be ready for registration, the Next of Kin (NOK) will register the death at the Registry Office of the place of death.
Request from the GP Freedom from Infection certificate (FFI) confirming that the body of the deceased person does not carry any transmittable infection/disease and the body is safe to be handled and transferred (repatriation).
Al-Fath Trust funeral service will complete all the necessary paperwork, liaising with His Majesty the coroner services, the Algerian Consulate and booking the flight to Algeria.
